QUALITY CONTROL

Quality isn’t a checkbox. It’s our DNA.

It’s our way of doing things. We’re proud to be ISO 9001:2015 certified by TUV NORD, but for us, the certificate is just the outcome of something deeper: an obsession with getting every detail right.

From the raw material that comes in to the final truck that rolls out, we keep an eagle eye on the process. Only the best inputs are chosen, every batch is inspected, and our standardised assurance plans make sure consistency is never compromised.

And because trust is built on proof, our world-class labs are packed with precisely calibrated machines that leave no room for error. The result? Every profile that leaves SUMEX is one we’d be proud to put our name on.

The tools behind our precision

Spectrometer

The backbone of alloy development. This analytical tool checks the chemical composition of every melt, raw material, and finished product, detecting even trace elements at ppm levels. For high-spec industries like aerospace and automotive, accuracy at this level is non-negotiable. It’s also key to our ongoing R&D as we develop and experiment with new alloys.

Aluminium profiles demand razor-sharp tolerances—often as tight as ±0.1 mm. Our profile projector, imported from Japan to exceed regular quality standards, delivers non-destructive, rapid, ultra-precise dimensional checks. It visualises angles, radii, threads and straight lines with measurement accuracies down to ±0.01 mm, speeding up inspection, reducing human error, and ensuring every one of our 5,000+ sections meets spec.

Aluminum may be light, but strength is everything. We test it three ways:

UTM (Ultimate Tensile Machine): Confirms tensile strength, yield, elongation, and overall mechanical performance.

BHN (Brinell Hardness Test): Measures bulk hardness, validating alloy quality and heat treatment.

Barcol hardness tester: Portable, fast, and reliable for surface hardness checks — perfect for large or finished components right on the shop floo

Uses advanced eddy current methods to measure electrical conductivity. It’s a non-destructive way to confirm alloy composition, check for correct heat treatment, and validate structural integrity. This ensures every log and profile is consistent, compliant, and production-ready.
