At just 18 years old, Sushil Agarwal stepped into his family’s jute trading business, Shivram Das & Sons, carrying on a legacy while also building one of his own. Balancing long hours at the business with his BBA and MBA studies, he showed early on that learning and leadership go hand-in-hand.
But his ambitions didn’t stop with trade. By 2001, he was ready to create something larger, a manufacturing venture that could deliver value beyond transactions. That drive led him to 2004, when he founded SUMEX. What began as a bold idea soon grew into a structure that set new benchmarks in aluminium solutions—a brand synonymous with innovation, quality, and trust.
As a leader, Sushil is defined by foresight, discipline, and a belief in empowering people—qualities that continue to guide SUMEX in shaping progress for clients, communities, and the industry at large.
Sandeep Gupta
Co–Managing Director
A self-made entrepreneur, Sandeep Gupta brings to the table an exceptional problem-solving ability and in-depth mastery of manufacturing processes.
His journey began in 1987 with aluminium trading, later expanding into jewellery manufacturing. These diverse ventures honed his business acumen and strengthened his vision.
In 2004, he returned to his first passion, aluminium, to build the brand into a trusted name in precision-engineered aluminium solutions.

For Divyesh Agarwal, SUMEX was never just a business — it was an opportunity to shape something bigger. After studying Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, refining his business skills at the University of Virginia, and completing the MFAB programme at ISB, he returned with a vision to blend technical precision with strategic growth.
Joining the company in 2018, Divyesh quickly spotted an untapped opportunity. Two years later, he launched SUMEX’s fabrication division, giving the Company a new dimension and creating value-added solutions that continue to grow under his leadership. Beyond this, he has been a driving force in modernising extrusion operations and charting strategies that look ahead, not just around.
Rooted in family values yet forward in thought, Divyesh stands at the crossroads of legacy and innovation — shaping SUMEX into the future-ready ally it strives to be.
Vaibhav Dochania
Director
When Vaibhav Dochania graduated with a BBA from SP Jain School of Global Management in 2021, he found SUMEX beckoning to him — not as an obligation, but as a calling.
Since then, he has been immersed in every part of the business — learning, experimenting, and bringing a fresh perspective to its growth. For him, aluminium is more than a material; it’s a force of progress, shaping industries from construction and transport to packaging and technology.
Balancing legacy with vision, Vaibhav is committed to exploring new applications, expanding markets, and preparing SUMEX for the future it is destined to build.
